About ICOM

The Institute of Church Office Management is a Professional and Examination body recognized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Ministry of Justice of the Federation, registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission and approved by the Chartered Act.

The Act empowers the institute to regulate the training and practice of church Office Management within a professional framework throughout Nigeria. The institute is empowered to Champion, Promote and advance the art and science of Church Office Management and its practice in all its aspects and ramification as well as establish Professional standards for the membership training and certification of Chartered Church Officer Manager.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must meet the minimum educational requirements as specified for each level of the professional programme
  • Foundation Level requires 5 credits passed in GCE/NECO/WAEC/NABTEB with English as compulsory
  • All candidates must comply with the institute's code of ethics and professional conduct

Registration and Membership

  • Users are required to register an account to access courses, examinations, and other features
  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Membership categories include Chartered Member, Chartered Fellow, Doctoral Fellow, and Honorary Fellow

Professional Examinations

To practice professionally, candidates must complete the three levels of professional examination set up by the institute:

  • Foundation Level: Entry level for candidates with 5 credits in GCE/NECO/WAEC/NABTEB
  • Intermediate Level: For candidates who have completed Foundation Level or hold HND, ND, A' NABTEB
  • Final Level: For candidates who have completed Intermediate Level or hold relevant post-graduate qualifications

Candidates who successfully complete the final level examination have the right/privilege to describe themselves as a "CCOM" (Chartered Church Office Manager).

Payments and Fees

  • All fees are payable in Nigerian Naira (₦) as specified for each level
  • Fees include acceptance fees, study pack fees, exemption fees (where applicable), and examination fees
  • Payment must be made before registration for examinations
  • Refund policies are subject to the institute's regulations

Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

All members and candidates are expected to adhere to the institute's code of ethics, which includes:

  • Integrity: Being straightforward, honest and trustful in all professional and business relationships
  • Objectivity: Not allowing bias, conflict of interest or the influence of other people to override professional judgement
  • Professional Competence: Maintaining the capability to perform professional duties with skill of acceptable quality
  • Confidentiality: Not disclosing professional information unless you have specific permission or a legal or professional duty to do so
  • Professional Behaviour: Complying with relevant laws and regulations and avoiding any action that could negatively affect the reputation of the profession

Intellectual Property

All course materials, study packs, examination papers, and content provided by ICOM are the intellectual property of the Institute of Church Office Management. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or sharing of these materials is strictly prohibited.

Certification and Designatory Letters

Upon successful completion of the Final Level examination, candidates are entitled to use the designatory acronym "CCOM" (Chartered Church Office Manager) after their name.

Chartered Church Office Managers who have completed 10 years post-qualification experience are qualified for fellowship award and may use the designatory acronym "FCCOM" (Fellow Chartered Church Office Manager).

Limitation of Liability

ICOM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or inability to use our services.

Changes to Terms & Conditions

ICOM may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. Any changes will be communicated through the website or via email. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
